Jack Marsico

Jack Marsico, 77, of 325 Northside Drive, Bennington, Vt., died Monday at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, where he had resided since 1997. He was the brother of Jacomina Cirone of North Adams. Born in Athol on June 18, 1923, son of Giacomo and Constantina Luisa Marsico, he attended schools in Athol. He also resided in Arizona for a number of years. Mr. Marsico was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from Dec. 7, 1941, until being honorably discharged on Nov. 8, 1945, as a seaman first class. He was a self-employed barber for 15 years in Worcester. His wife, the former Geraldine Cronin Lavin, whom he married in August 1970, died May 2, 1985. Besides his sister of North Adams, he leaves another sister, Rachael Staritis of Paterson, N.J. Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Gethsemane Cemetery in Athol, Mass. There are no calling hours. DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, Mass., is handling arrangements. Mr. Marsico was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Montagna, and a brother, Joseph Amidio.
