Roberta Conrad

Roberta Conrad, 84, formerly of 45 Spring St., died yesterday at the North Adams Commons. Born in Sharon on Dec. 18, 1918, daughter of Daniel and Elmina Pearl Andres Beach, she attended schools in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School and Fanny Farmer's Culinary School in Boston. After moving to North Adams in the 1970s, she worked at the Hunter Outdoor Product Co. She was a nurse's aide at the Methuen State Hospital. She also worked as a cook for several restaurants. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of Frank R. Stiles American Legion Post 125 and Dr. George L. Curran Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 996 Ladies Auxiliary. She leaves a daughter, Harriet Jane Diaz of North Adams; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Stanley Conrad Jr., who died July 15, 2002. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service to celebrate the life of Roberta Beach Conrad will take place Monday evening at 7 at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Susan Stewart, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Rock Ridge Cemetery in Sharon. There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the North Adams Commons Activities Fund through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Cental Chapels, 74 Marshall St. Survivors include three grandchildren, Terry Axt, David Diaz and Angelica Paredes, and three great-grandchildren, Britney Harris, Bridgette Diaz and Natal Paredes.
