Vito "Connie" Metallo

Vito "Connie" Metallo, 89, of 1925 Roosevelt Drive, Sellersburg, Ind., formerly of Pittsfield, died Thursday while en route to a hospital in Indiana. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 9, 1914, son of Pasquale and Antonetta Rabasca Metallo, he attended local schools. He resided in Camden, N.J., then Valdosta, Ga., before moving to Indiana in 1998. He had been employed by Campbell's Soup Co. in Camden for 23 years, retiring in 1975 While in Pittsfield he was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, all sports and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers. He and his wife, the former Rose Akers, were married Dec. 8, 1973. Besides his wife, he leaves a sister, Gloria Langlois of Pittsfield and a brother, Victor Metallo of Sewell, N.J. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Vito "Connie" Metallo, 89, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003. Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family. He was predeceased by four sisters, Mary Cimini, Josephine Talarico, Frances Cauchon and Theresa Metallo, and three brothers, Joseph Metallo, Anthony Metallo and Peter Metallo.
