Louise DeSandre Wilk

2Louise DeSandre Wilk, 72, of Pine Ridge Village, Mohawk Trail, died Sunday evening at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, N.H., where she had been admitted earlier in the day. She was visiting family in Derry when she was stricken. Born in North Adams on March 23, 1931, daughter of Clement F. and Victoria L. DeSandre Cavazza, she graduated in 1948 from Drury High School, where she was captain of the cheerleaders. Mrs. Wilk was employed by the state as an account clerk at Northern Berkshire District Court until retiring in 1998 with 20 years of service. She also had owned the former Wilk's Beverage Shop in the Berkshire Plaza, until selling the business to Modern Liquors. Mrs. Wilk was a communicant of St. Francis' and St. Anthony's churches. She leaves three sons, Edwin C. Wilk of Derry, Keith S. Wilk of Londonderry, N.H., and Mark C. Wilk of North Adams, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Louise DeSandre Wilk will take place Thursday, Dec. 11, at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in the family plot at Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Public Library or the North Adams Little League through the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Sue Valenti Wilk of Derry and Pamela J. Hansen Wilk of North Adams, and four grandchildren, Christopher Wilk, Sarah Wilk, Joshua Wilk and Kristin Wilk. Her sister, Iris O. Lilly, died Aug. 5, 1966.
