Barbara Clare Sondrini

Barbara Clare Sondrini, 73, of 94 Woodlawn Ave. died at home Tuesday. Born in Rockville Center, N.Y., on Sept. 8, 1930, daughter of Charles and Cicely Murphy Roselle, she was a graduate of Rockville Center High School. Following graduation, she enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War and served in San Antonio, Texas, until her honorable discharge. She moved to Stamford, Vt., and was employed with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. until 1959. Later, she worked as a claims adjudicator with the Massachusetts Division of Employment Security for 19 years, retiring in 1990. A communicant of St. Anthony's Church, Mrs. Sondrini served as lector and eucharistic minister. She taught CCD and was a member of the Rosary Society and bazaar committee of the church. She also volunteered at La Festa. She was a member of the Third Order of Mount Carmel at the former Carmelite Novitiate in Williamstown and volunteered her services for the Reading and Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. She and her husband, Natale F. Sondrini, were married Aug. 22, 1959 in St. John Bosco Church, Stamford, Vt. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Gia Andrea Sondrini of Pittsfield and Natalie Francesca D'Ambrosio of Heath, a granddaughter and great-granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- In accordance with Mrs. Barbara Sondrini's request, there will be no calling hours and the omission of flowers is requested. A memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place at a later date at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Marshall Street, North Adams, with the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor, officiating. Any memorial donations are suggested for St. Anthony of Padua Church through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include a son-in-law, Karl D'Ambrosio, a granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Sondrini, and a great-granddaughter, Gianna Maria Sondrini. A sister, Ethyl "Eve" Larkin, is deceased.
