Edna Raker

Edna Raker, 92, of Cold Spring Road died Friday at Sweet Brook Care Centers. Born in Scranton, PA., on May 17, 1911, daughter of Harry and Rose Roth Solomon, she was educated there. She had been employed by Best Brothers Paint Store in Elizabeth, N.J., the business of her late husband, Joseph Raker. She was a member of Congregation Beth El in Bennington, Vt. Her husband, whom she married June 23, 1933, in Pennsylvania, died in 1975. She leaves a son, Morris Raker of Williamstown, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Burial for Edna Raker, who died Dec. 19, 2003, will be today, Dec. 21, at 1 in Dalton (Pa.) Jewish Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of GEORGE M. HOPKINS FUNERAL HOME, 61-67 Spring St., Williamstown. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Beth El, 107 Adams St., Bennington, VT 05201. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Janet; her grandchildren and their spouses, David and Lisa Raker, Michael and Leslie Raker, Robert and Annette Raker, Deborah Clem, Ilana and Aaron Rosen, and Shira Wohlberg; and her great-grandchildren, Arianna Clem, Izak Raker and Elsa Raker. She was predeceased by a brother, Cyrill Solomon.
