Nesta Veronica Hamelin

Nesta Veronica Hamelin, 87, of 62 Carson Ave. died Sunday, Dec. 21, at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted earlier in the day. Born in North Adams on Feb. 20, 1916, daughter of George and Anne Sheridan LaBombard, she attended North Adams elementary schools and Drury High School. She was a longtime resident of Clarksburg. Mrs. Hamelin was employed by Waverly Fabrics in Adams until her retirement several years ago. She also worked for several years at the former Strong-Hewat Mill. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams. Her husband, Richard L. Hamelin, whom she married Aug. 12, 1935, died May 30, 1997. She was the last of her immediate family. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Nesta V. Hamelin will be from AUGÉ-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME in North Adams on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at 9:15, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Francis' Church. Burial will be in the spring in Clarksburg Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be today from 5 to 7. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to either St. Francis' Church or to a charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247. Survivors include many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mrs. Hamelin was predeceased by three brothers, George and Francis LaBombard, and by five sisters, Augustine Robare, Bernadette Robare, Irene Ross, Virginia Griswold and Mary Leslie.
