Rita Lazarczyk

Rita Lazarczyk, 79, of 745 Savoy Road died early yesterday morning at home with her family at her side. Born in Adams on Feb. 21, 1924, daughter of Arthur and Mary Parker Daignault, she moved to North Adams as a child and attended the former Notre Dame School. She moved to Cheshire in 1949. Mrs. Lazarczyk was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed reading and cooking, and took every opportunity to cultivate her expansive perennial gardens. She and her husband. Frank Lazarczyk, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary Sept. 1. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Francis Lazarczyk of Lanesboro and Richard Lazarczyk of Cheshire; three daughters, Jeanne Pester of Cheshire, Marcia Burdick of Niskayuna, N.Y., and Nancy Pause of Leverett; three sisters, Eva Murach of Adams, Marion Maynard of Cheshire and Annette Tatro of North Adams; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rita Lazarczyk will be Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 9 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire celebrated by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Jan. 13, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to St. Mary of the Assumption Church or to the Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of Northern Berkshire, which provided hospice care to Rita and her family. The Lazarczyk family would like to express its sincere thanks to Dr. Douglas Karrel and the Rev. David Raymond for their compassionate care of Rita. Rita also leaves her dearest friend, Victoria Hoellerich of Cheshire, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Thomas and Doris Daignault, and by a brother, Francis Daignault.
