Carol A. Pacheco

Carol A. Pacheco, 58, of 94 B Pomeroy Ave. died Sunday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Born in Putnam, Conn., on Dec. 25, 1942, daughter of Aurore Benac Brissette and the late Leon Brissette, she attended schools there and graduated from Putnam High School. She moved to Pittsfield in 1983. Mrs. Pacheco worked as an administrative assistant and executive secretary. She was employed by the former Berkshire Physicians & Surgeons until her illness. She also worked for GE. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and an accomplished floral designer. She also enjoyed boating and spending time at the Connecticut shore. Besides her mother, of Putnam, she leaves two daughters, Lori A. Moon and Lisa A. Poplaski, both of Pittsfield; a son, Mark A. Pacheco of Brooklyn, Conn.; a brother, Lee Brissette of Colorado, and seven grandchildren. She was the "proud Meme" of Christopher and Brandon Pacheco; Jessica, Kristen and Cassidy Moon, and Michael and Casey Poplaski; and the mother-in-law of Christopher E. Moon, Dennis L. Poplaski and Jerilynn Pacheco. She also leaves her very special friend, David A. Alexander. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 from Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME beginning at 9. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Myelodysplastic Syndrome Foundation in care of the funeral home.
