Roberta Madeline Decensi

Roberta Madeline Decensi, 67, of 1 Tracie Ave. died Wednesday evening at home. Born in Lee on March 7, 1936, the daughter of Robert and Madeline Dellea Porrini, she attended schools there and was a 1953 graduate of Lee High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She had lived in Adams since 1955. She was last employed as an administrative assistant at the former General Cable Co. in North Adams for several years, retiring in 1988. Earlier, she had worked for the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District, the former Sprague Products in North Adams and Frank Consolati Insurance in Lee. Mrs. Decensi was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas. She enjoyed cooking. She and her husband, Angelo Decensi Jr., were married May 7, 1955. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Peter A. Decensi of Hinckley, Ohio, and Robert J. Decensi of Guilford, Conn.; two sisters, Mary Bowers of Lee and Norma Babinski of Lakeland, Fla., and a granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Roberta Decensi will be Monday, Feb. 9, at 9 from the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of Northern Berkshire or to the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas through the funeral home. Mrs. Decensi enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Jessica Decensi of Guilford.
