Kenneth R. Suprenant

Kenneth R. Suprenant, 77, of 233 Columbia St. died Monday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on Sept. 6, 1926, son of Henry and Edna Ouimette Suprenant, he attended schools there. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served from 1944 to 1946 and honorable discharged with the rank of seaman, second class. Mr. Suprenant was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. as a supervisor in the shipping department for 50 years, retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and a member of American Legion Post 160 and of VFW Post 996 in North Adams. He and his wife, the former Exilda Roy, were married Nov. 25, 1955. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Lorraine Lavigne of Adams, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Kenneth R. Suprenant, who died Feb. 9, 2004, will be Saturday, Feb. 14, at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. He leaves his grandchildren Gayle Silvestri and her husband, Daniel Silvestri of Westchester, Pa., and Mark Lavigne and his wife, Diane, of Cheshire; four great-grandchildren, David Tomasini, Gina Tomasini, Matthew Silvestri and Michael Silvestri; a granddaughter-in-law, Diane Lavigne; a grandson-in-law, Daniel Silvestri, and several nieces and nephews.
