Helen E. Sadlo

Helen E. Sadlo, 92, of 116 North Summer St. died Thursday evening at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Windber, Pa., on April 5, 1911, daughter of Anthony and Katherine Leja Balut, she moved to Adams as a child with her family. She attended Adams schools, including St. Stanislaus' Elementary School. Mrs. Sadlo last worked at the former Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. in North Adams for several years, retiring when the plant closed. Earlier, she had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a member of the St. Stanislaus' Rosary Sodality. Her husband, Adam Sadlo, whom she married April 15, 1939, died July 28, 1949. She leaves a son, John Sadlo of Windsor, and a sister, Mary Dunaj of Adams, with whom she resided. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 16, at 9 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, celebrated by Rev. Jed Sumampong, C.P. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church or to any charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home. She also leaves a nephew, Russell Balut of Belchertown. She was predeceased by two brothers, August Balut on Oct 10, 1986, and William Balut on Aug. 12, 1989.
