ROBERTA L. (CADELL) GAMARI

MRS. ROBERTA L. (CADELL) GAMARI, 84, of 525 Church St. North Adams, MA, died Saturday evening Dec. 9, 2000 at the Sweetbrook Care Center in Williamstown, MA. She was born in North Scituate, Rhode Island on March 5, 1916, a daughter of the late Joseph Cadell and Lillian (Benway) Cadell. She moved to Spencer, MA at an early age and attended schools in Spencer. She graduated from the David Prouty High School there. She lived in Spencer until 1934 when she moved to North Adams. Mrs. Gamari was the manager of the former Riseberg’s Clothing Store in North Adams until the store closed in 1973. She was last employed as the manager of the former Lamb’s Book Store in North Adams until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in North Adams. She maintained an avid interest in politics and often had “lively” political discussions. She was the widow of Michael V. Gamari who died on June 21,1989. They were married on October 25, 1940. Survivors include one daughter- Maria T. Beighley of North Adams. Two Grandaughters- Jessica L. Beighley and Roberta J. Beighley of North Adams. One Brother- Raymond Cadell of California. One Cousin- Eva B. Stoddard with whom she made her home since 1982. Nieces and Nephews. Three brothers are deceased including Russell Cadell, Earl Cadell, and Edward Cadell. Funeral services for Roberta L. (Cadell) Gamari will take place Tuesday morning Dec. 12, 2000 at 10: 15 AM at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals CENTRAL CHAPELS 74 Marshall St. North Adams, followed by services at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Episcopal Church in North Adams. The Rev. Donald Place, Rector will officiate. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals CENTRAL CHAPELS are Monday from 5-8 PM. Donations may be made to the Northern Berkshire Santa Fund or to the Alzheimer’s Unit at Sweetbrook Nursing Home in care of the Flynn&Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247 which is in charge of arrangements.
