Annetta "Penny" Gardner

Annetta "Penny" Gardner, 79, of 293 High St. died yesterday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield. Born Aug. 14, 1924, in Fort Johnson, N.Y., daughter of Earl and Mary Jane Harris Houghton, she was a graduate of Fort Johnson High School. Mrs. Gardner worked in the wire manufacturing department at GE in Pittsfield for 17 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Berkshire First Nazarene Church. She leaves two daughters, Darlene B. Gardner of Pittsfield and Danette C. Poole of The Colony, Texas; a son, Gary W. Gardner of Mansfield, Texas, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Annetta "Penny" Gardner, who died Feb. 21, 2004, will be conducted Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 2 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield by the Rev. Brian Lamberton, pastor of Berkshire First Nazarene Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Feb. 23, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
