Lewis L. Miner

Lewis L. Miner, 89, of 1031 West Main St., Housatonic, died yesterday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Otis on April 20, 1911, he moved as a foster child to Lee and worked for many years on the farm of Dr. Charles Stratton Mr. Miner was a gas fitter for more than 20 years at Homegas Co. in Housatonic, retiring in 1976. Prior to that he worked at the former Monument Mills in Housatonic. He was a caretaker at the Edith Ramsdell home in Housatonic, and at the Norman Rockwell home and the Wilmers estate, both in Stockbridge. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, and playing bingo. He leaves his wife, the former Helen "Lena" Tassinari, whom he married April 30, 1949. The funeral will be Tuesday, April 10, at 10 at HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME. The Rev. Anthony J. Jutt, pastor of Corpus Christi Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today (Monday) from 4 to 6. Donations may be made to the Corpus Christi Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Mr. Miner leaves several nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by two sisters.
