Alfreda Mabel Williams

Alfreda Mabel Williams, 66, of 315 Ashland St. died yesterday at North Adams Commons, where she was admitted Jan. 23. Born in North Adams on Nov. 15, 1937, daughter of Alfred and Clara Bohl Williams, she attended schools in Williamstown, including the former Williamstown High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Williams enjoyed knitting afghans and sewing her own curtains and drapes. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Williamstown. She leaves her longtime companion, Augustino Cantoni; three sisters, Shirley Freckleton of West Brattleboro, Vt., and Marjorie Oakley and Corrine Benoit, both of Pittsfield; a brother, Alfred W. Williams Jr. of Bridgewater, and several grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Memorial services for Alfreda Mabel Williams, who died Feb. 23, 2004, will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire or to the American Cancer Society through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Survivors include six children, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Hope Barbara Stallings.
