Ina May Foote

Ina May Foote, 76, of 75 Commercial St. died Feb. 24 at Williamstown Commons after a brief illness. Born in Adams on Nov. 4, 1927, daughter of Ralph E. and Esmay Lapan Foote, she was a 1944 graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School, where she was a member of the Crimson Key and the Athletic Association. She also had resided at 37 Temple St. for many years. Miss Foote was assistant manager of the former Maple Grove Grocery for many years until leaving in 1962 to care for her parents and brother. She was a communicant of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus. She leaves several cousins and her caregivers, Fred and Linda Nazzewski. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Ina May Foote, who died Feb. 24, 2004, will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 28, at St. Thomas' Church by the Rev. Jed Sumampong, CP. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours at McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., will be tomorrow, Feb. 27, from 2 to 5. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Louison House on Old Columbia Street. Her brother, Ralph A. Foote, died in 1995. She was known for her reserved manner and quiet charm, and her yearbook caption stated "Girls should be seen but not heard."
