Sophie K. Wilson, 83, of 705 New Britain Ave., Hartford, Conn., formerly of Adams, died yesterday morning at the Avery Heights Health Care Center in Hartford. Born in Adams on May 14, 1920, daughter of Wojciek and Katharzyna Strzymecka Piwko, she graduated from St. Stanislaus Kostka Elementary School in Adams in 1935 and from the former St. Joseph's High School in North Adams in 1939. Mrs. Wilson worked for GE in Pittsfield in the ordnance department for more than 30 years. While in Adams, she was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Her husband, Robert J. Wilson, whom she married Aug. 1, 1942, in St. Stanislaus' Church, died Nov. 18, 1969. She leaves two sons, Geoffrey Wilson of West Hartford, Conn., and Dennis Wilson of Skillman, N.J., and two grandsons. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Sophie K. Wilson, who died March 4, 2004, will take place Monday, March 8, at 11 in St. Stanislaus' Church in Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the parishes of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka in Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, will be Monday from 9:30 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Avery Heights Village Fund through the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Anna Lukas and all the staff who cared for Sophie over the past four years for their kindness and care. She also leaves two grandsons, Robert and Steven Wilson; two daughters-in-law, Jane and Dona Wilson, and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Stanley, Theodore and Clem Piwko, and two sisters, Stacia Pevoski and Helen Jzyk, are deceased.
