Jane E. Piscioneri

Jane E. Piscioneri, 56, of Wilbraham died Wednesday at home, after a battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Muriel Rokos of South Egremont and the late John Rokos. Born in Suffern, N.Y., on Dec. 5, 1947, she was a graduate of Albertus Magnus High School in New York. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from American International College. She had been a special education teacher in Monson since 1989. She had also taught at Holy Name School in Springfield. Mrs. Piscioneri was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and a member of its Women's Club. She was a member of the Monson Teachers Association, where she served as its secretary on the negotiating team, was a member of the board of directors, and a delegate to the Massachusetts Teachers Association Convention. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, notably the Foxy Red Hatters. She leaves her husband of 34 years, James Piscioneri, a former resident of Adams. Besides her mother and husband, she leaves a daughter, Kristen Rahilly of Springfield; a son, Andre Piscioneri of Springfield; a sister, Maryleigh Lamson of Brookfield, Vt., and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 at St. Cecelia's Church. Burial will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 4 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the WILBRAHAM FUNERAL HOME, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham. Memorial donations may be made to the Granite Valley Middle School Library-Listening Center, 21 Thompson St., Monson, MA 01057, or The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Jane leaves her grandchildren, Tyler and Dylan Piscioneri and Madeline Rahilly. Jane will be remembered as a special teacher who throughout her teaching career put the child first and supported all parents in the development of the child.
