Lillian V. Schwarzer

Lillian V. Schwarzer, 90, formerly of 72 Richardson St. and formerly of Adams, died Thursday at the Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown, where she had resided since August 1996. Born in Adams on April 27, 1913, daughter of Alfred and Maxymillian Ryan Schwarzer, she graduated from the former Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs School of Adams. Most recently, she worked in the housekeeping department at Williams College. She was a cook for the former Adams Nursing Home before then. She had also worked for the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, then in the cloth room of Berkshire Fine Spinning. She left the work force in 1968 to care for her family. A member of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas, she attended St. Thomas' Church. Her husband, George E. Schwarzer, whom she married on Jan. 24, 1931, in Notre Dame Church, died on March 22, 1999. She leaves two daughters, Nancy L. Brown of Cheshire, with whom she had resided, and Shirley Roberts of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; a brother, Norbert T. Tanguay of Adams; a sister, Dora Mason of Adams, and nine grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A reading of the Scriptures in the Roman Catholic tradition will be offered for Lillian Tanguay Schwarzer, who died March 12, 2004, on Monday, March 15, at 10 in the McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Deacon Robert Moulton. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 9 to 10. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Fund in care of the funeral home.
