Edna Lee Gregalis

Edna Lee Gregalis, 93, of formerly 75 Commercial St., Mill Houses, died Sunday at Sweet Brook Care Centers, where she had lived for several years. Born in Adams on Oct. 11, 1910, daughter of Vincent and Balbina Jedrzejowska Menczywor, she graduated from St. Stanislaus' School in 1924. She last worked for nine years for theformer Hunter Outdoor Products in North Adams, retiring in 1975. Before that, she was employed by the Hoosac Cotton Mill for nine years, and was a weaver at Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates for 33 years. She was a communicant of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus, and a member of the Mill Houses Association. She leaves two sons, John J. Gregalis Jr. of Adams and Donald C. Gregalis of South Dennis; a daughter, Dolores Duncan of Cheshire; a brother, Paul Meczywor of Adams; a sister, Leona Paluch of North Adams; six grandchildren, including her caregiver, Julie Lefebvre of Adams, and 10 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be a Liturgy of Christian Burial for Edna Menczywor Gregalis, who died March 15, 2004, on Thursday, March 18, at 10:30 in St. Stanislaus' Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday from 9 until 10:30, prior to the service, at McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital Fund through the funeral home, 6 Liberty St., Adams, MA 01220. Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Arlene Gregalis and Diane Gregalis; her son-in-law, Alex Duncan, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, John, Longine and Chester Meczywor, and a sister, Lena Granger.
