Leo J. Andrews

Leo Joseph Andrews, 64, of 40 Brooklyn St. died Friday at home. Born in North Adams on Nov. 13, 1936, son of Elsie Sorel Andrews Cote and the late Leo J. Andrews, he lived in Cheshire and attended schools there and in Adams, including the former Adams High School. He served in the Army from 1955 until 1957. Mr. Andrews was employed by Cascade School Supply Co., retiring in 1999. He was first employed by the former Berkshire Mills in Adams, then Deerfield Glassine Co. in Monroe Bridge, where he worked for 10 years. He later worked for the Holland Chemical Co. in Adams, Crane & Co. in Dalton and H. Greenberg & Son in North Adams. Following his retirement, he worked part time at the Spiroll International Corp. in North Adams. Mr. Andrews was a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard and a member of the AmVets in North Adams. He enjoyed reading and was a fan of the New England Patriots. Besides his mother of North Adams, he leaves his wife, the former Delia B. Lewis, whom he married May 10, 1958, in Notre Dame Church; a son, Richard A. Andrews of Clarksburg; two daughters, Donna M. Thomas and Robin L. Haskins, both of North Adams; a brother, Thomas A. Andrews of North Adams; a sister, Barbara Sage of North Adams, and nine grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.
