Susannah H. Dillman

Susannah H. Dillman, 57, of 2 Pothul Drive died yesterday at home. Born in Otis on Aug. 26, 1946, daughter of George and Caroline Hincks Dillman, she attended schools there and was a 1964 graduate of Lee High School. She earned her bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Tufts University in 1968 and her master's degree in statistics in 1975 from the University of Oregon, where she also attended graduate school in 1977. She had resided in Falls Church, Va., for many years, and moved to Great Barrington last November. Ms. Dillman was employed as a statistician for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., from 1979 until retiring last year. She taught math in Stamford, Conn., then at a high school in Oregon before returning for her master's, and was an instructor at Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa., in 1978. She attended West Stockbridge Congregational Church. She played the fiddle in a small musical group and enjoyed folk dancing, hiking, tennis and playing duplicate bridge. She leaves a sister, Elizabeth Dillman of Great Barrington. FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be no calling hours for Susannah H. Dillman, who died Tuesday, March 23, 2004. Expressions of sympathy in Susannah's memory may be made to West Stockbridge Congregational Church in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements. She also leaves her nephew, Evan White of Great Barrington.
