Mary F. Ziarnik, 83, of 41 Friend St. died Saturday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. Born in Adams on April 30, 1920, daughter of Stephen and Agnes Hawryta Finik, she attended the former Adams High School and graduated from the former LaBarron Hairdressing Academy in Pittsfield. Mrs. Ziarnik owned Darl-Bob Beauty Salon at 103 Main St. in North Adams for several years, retiring in 1971 because of poor health. She was first employed by the former Arnold Print Works in Adams for many years. She was the first licensed psychic reader in Adams. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, dancing and growing flowers. She and her husband, Bruno Ziarnik, were married Nov. 10, 1945, in St. Stanislaus' Church. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Darlene J. Frieri of Adams, and two grandchildren. A son, Robert B. Ziarnik, died Oct. 28, 1985. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral or Mary Finik Ziarnik, 83, who died March 27, 2004, will be Wednesday, March 31, at 9 at FLYNN-DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 in St. Stanislaus' Church in Adams by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus. Burial will follow in the family plot at Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, March 30, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sweet Brook Care Centers' Linden Court Activity Fund in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Ziarnik enjoyed being with friends and family. Survivors include nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and her son-in-law, Dennis Frieri of Adams. She was predeceased by three sisters, Josephine Zimny, Helen Dean and Stella Dean, and by two brothers, Stanley and Joseph Finik.
