Carrie E. Murach

Carrie Elizabeth Murach, 82, of 2 Fisk St. died Sunday evening at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Springfield on June 6, 1918, daughter of Ernest and Annie Freeman Chamberlain, she moved to Adams as a child and attended local schools. She was employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 34 years, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Murach was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas'. Her husband, Frank C. Murach, whom she married Feb. 18, 1939, died Dec. 29, 1985. She leaves two daughters, Frances M. Hepperle of Freehold, N.Y., and Karen A. Murach of Adams; a son, David C. Murach of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, John Chamberlain of Brockton, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:15 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon at St. Thomas Aquinas Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas'. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire or to the Berkshire Humane Society through the funeral home. She was predeceased by a brother, George Chamberlain and a sister, Florence Herrmann.
