Florence Sonya Carmon, 73, of 45 Paul Ave. died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on April 7, 1930, daughter of Frank J. and Sally Olson Killela, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Carmon enjoyed flower gardening. Her husband, William W. Carmon, whom she married June 12, 1947, died Jan. 29, 1994. She leaves four sons, William R. Carmon, Thomas W. Carmon, David F. Carmon and Jon J. Carmon, all of Pittsfield; a daughter, Diane S. Guest of Pittsfield, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Florence Sonya Carmon, who died Monday, April 5, 2004, will be conducted Thursday, April 8, at 11 at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. William D. Furey. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, April 7, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She also is survived by three daughters-in-law, Annamarie Carmon, Patricia Carmon and Gale Carmon, and a niece, Maria Elena Rumgay. She was predeceased by a sister, Lillian I. Berne.
