Tillie R. Mirochnick

Tillie R. Mirochnick, 82, of Town Hill Road died Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in New York City on July 30, 1921, daughter of Samuel and Dina Rosenbloom Rubin, she was a graduate of Walton High School in the Bronx and Nassau Community College on Long Island. She moved to Sandisfield in February 1989 from East Meadow, N.Y. Mrs. Mirochnick had worked as a bookkeeper in New York. She spent much of her time volunteering for Tanglewood, the Community Health Program, the Berkshire Theatre Festival and Jacob's Pillow. She was a member of the Berkshire South Community Center in Great Barrington. She and her husband, Marvin Mirochnick, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary Feb. 25. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Mark Mirochnick of Hingham; a daughter, Linda Cormier of Sandisfield, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Mrs. Tillie R. Mirochnick, who died April 6, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow, April 9, at 1:30 in Sandisfield Cemetery by Rabbi Andrew Klein. The family will receive friends immediately following the burial at the home of her daughter, Linda Cormier, 64 Town Hill Road in Sandisfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Yiddish Book Center through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Diana Clarke; son-in-law, Dennis Cormier, and grandchildren Neil, Michael and Julia Mirochnick, and Aviva Cormier.
