June M. Cole

June M. Cole, 79, of 133 Houghton St. died Tuesday at home. Born in Adams on May 18, 1924, daughter of Charles J. and Margaret M. Sweeney Cole, she was a 1942 graduate of the former Adams High School. She was last employed as a child care worker at the Haskins School in North Adams and as a part-time school bus driver for Child Care of the Berkshires, retiring in 1992. She had also worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co., the former Sprague Electric Co., North Adams Regional Hospital, and the former W. B. Plunkett Hospital in Adams, where she was a manager in the dietary section. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Adams, where she was a member of the Women's Society. She was also a member of Eastern Star International and the Franklin Chapter as a matron. She was a member of the Ladies of Oriental Shrine of North America Inc., Court 27. She leaves two brothers, Hector C. Cole of Chula Vista, Calif., and Jack Cole of Key Largo, Fla. FUNERAL NOTICE -- An Inurnment Service for Ms. Cole will be held at a time to be announced. The ceremony will take place in the family lot in Cheshire Cemetery. The MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
