Harry L. Giguere Jr

Harry L. Giguere Jr., 60, of 11 Day St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center of respiratory failure. Born in Pittsfield on July 17, 1943, son of Antoinette P. Pizzuto Giguere of Pittsfield and the late Harry L. Giguere, he was a 1961 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He also graduated from Berkshire Community College's nursing assistant program. He served for four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in the Philippines. Mr. Giguere was a Pittsfield Police officer for 17 years, retiring in 1987. He later was a supervisor in residential homes for the mentally retarded. He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church. He enjoyed using his computer. Besides his mother, he leaves a son, Cary Giguere of Northfield, Vt.; a daughter, Kala Gresser of Dalton; a sister, Frances M. Broderick of Dalton; a brother, Gerald J. Giguere of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Harry L. Giguere Jr., 60, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, April 7, at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 8:30 to 9:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel in care of the funeral home.
