Margaret M. Williamson

Margaret M. Williamson, 89, of Charlton, formerly of Pleasant Street, died Thursday at the Masonic Home in Charlton, where she had resided for the past three years. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on July 17, 1914, daughter of Steward and Jean McVey Duthie, she grew up and was educated in Kilmarnock, Scotland. When she was young, she worked in Scotland for the Rolls-Royce Co. as an inspector in its aircraft division. She came to the United States in 1951, making her home on Pleasant Street, and worked for 25 years at the McClelland Drug Store, retiring in the 1980s. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and former member of the First Congregational Church. Her husband, A. Maxwell Williamson, whom she married April 30, 1937, died Oct. 27, 1990. She leaves two sons, Stuart D. Williamson of Northboro and Maxwell N. Williamson of Adams; a daughter, Laura A. Shaffer of Lancaster; a sister, Laura Steel of Lenox, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral of Margaret Williamson, who died April 15, 2004, will be Tuesday at 10 at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME. Cremation will follow. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Masonic Home in Charlton in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. She leaves her grandchildren, Stuart, Mathew, Scott, William and Andrew and her great-grandchildren, Katelynn, Ashley and Mathew. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Hillhouse.
