Alan R. Dupont

Alan R. Dupont, 48, who had resided at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield since 2002, formerly of Becket, died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a long illness. Born in Westfield on Aug. 24, 1955, son of Carol Connor Dupont of Chester and the late Harry Dupont, he was a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School in Dalton. A lumberman, Mr. Dupont had worked at lumberyards in Pittsfield and Becket, and most recently worked for Lenox Lumber for several years. He enjoyed making model cars, riding all-terrain vehicles and working on cars. Besides his mother, he leaves a sister, Shirley M. O'Donnell of Hinsdale, and two brothers, Harry W. Dupont and Steven J. Dupont Sr., both of Hinsdale. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Alan R. Dupont, 48, who died April 19, 2004, will be conducted Friday, April 23, at 11 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. William Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel. Burial will follow in Becket Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, April 22, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home, 890 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226. Alan will be lovingly missed by his niece, Jennifer M. O'Donnell, and three nephews, Jeffrey W. O'Donnell, Steven J. Dupont Jr. and Joseph W. Dupont, and his sister-in-law, Cindy M. Dupont.
