Louise Samboruk

Louise V. Samboruk, 79, of Our Lady of the Meadows at 1 Pinnacle St., Richford, Vt., a former resident of Great Barrington, died Monday at Fletcher Allan Hospital in Burlington. Born in Lee on July 6, 1921, daughter of Giovanni and Anna Zanella Macchi, she attended local schools. She was employed as a waitress at Rossi's Restaurant in Lee, and later at Paul's Restaurant in Great Barrington. She was last employed at Reid's Cleaners in Great Barrington, retiring in 1974. After her retirement, she moved to Enosburg, Vt. Mrs. Samboruk was a communicant of All Saints' Church in Enosburg. An avid Red Sox fan, she enjoyed playing bingo and cards, and traveling. Her husband, Rudolph P. Samboruk, whom she married in 1974, died in 1988. She leaves a son, Edward Tripodes of North Adams; a stepson, Rudolph P. Samboruk Jr. of Grape Vine, Texas; two stepdaughters, Patricia A. Smith of Easthampton and Victoria E. Gritman of Pittsfield; four brothers, John J. Macchi of Englewood, Fla., Silvio P. Macchi of Great Barrington, George Macchi of Cohoes, N.Y., and Joseph Macchi of Pittsfield; two sisters, Alice J. Buffis of Lee and Clara DeVoe of Englewood, Fla.; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 from KELLY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours at Kelly Funeral Home will be Thursday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to All Saints' Church in Richford, Vt., in care of the Kelly Funeral Home.
