Olive C. Pudlo

Olive Cathleen Pudlo, 97, of 10 Briggs St. died Monday at Willowood Health Care Center in North Adams. Born in North Adams on Aug. 26, 1903, daughter of Patrick and Sarah Murphy Prendergast, she attended local schools, including the former St. Joseph Parochial School. She was employed for several years at the former Hoosac Cotton Mills in North Adams until it ceased operations. She was then employed at the former Greylock Division of the Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in North Adams, retiring in 1968. Mrs. Pudlo was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 310 of North Adams. Her husband, Walter J. Pudlo, whom she married June 2, 1924, died May 3, 1992. She leaves several nieces and nephews. A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Olive Prendergast Pudlo will be celebrated Friday at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., are Friday from 9:30 to 10:30. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home. She was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers: Catherine Eberhardt, Mary Daub, Sarah McCann, Henry Prendergast, Michael Prendergast, Thomas Prendergast and John Prendergast.
