Edna Finkle

Edna Finkle, 80, of Canaan-Southfield Road died yesterday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Torrington, Conn., on Sept. 27, 1920, daughter of Frederick and Anna Seedorf Hastedt, she moved with her family to New Marlboro and attended schools there. Primarily a homemaker, she was also a housekeeper for several families. She enjoyed needlepoint and nature, especially birds and flowers. She also enjoyed Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. Her husband, Arthur Finkle, whom she married Dec. 18, 1948, died Dec. 31, 1984. She leaves three daughters, Cynthia J. Finkle, Joan E. Finkle and Susan E. Finkle, all at home; four brothers, Frederick J. Hastedt of Lake Buel, William Hastedt of Lubbock, Texas, Arthur Hastedt of Culpepper, Va., and Raymond Hastedt of Richmond; four sisters, Anne Kindick of Yeadon, Pa., and Dorothy Badurski, Marge Gillette and June Hastedt, all of Great Barrington, and three grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Finkle will be Saturday, April 21, 2001, at 11 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Steven Felker, pastor of the United Church of New Marlboro, officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Sheffield Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 20, from 4 to 7 at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, Great Barrington. Contributions in Edna's memory may be made to the New Marlboro Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad in care of Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
