Ann F. Hoffman

Ann F. Hoffman, 73, of 35 Delancy Ave. died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 1, 1927, daughter of L. Hobart and F. Ethel Martin Merritt, she was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph's High School and also of Green Mountain College in Vermont. She was employed as an EKG technician at the former St. Luke's Hospital and at Berkshire Medical Center. She also worked for Dr. Joseph Budnitz. A communicant of St. Mary's Church, Mrs. Hoffman was a member of its Rosary Sodality. Her husband, Joseph W. Hoffman, whom she married April 22, 1950, died May 31, 1989. She leaves a son, J. Michael Hoffman of Westfield; a daughter, JoAnn Tierney of Pittsfield; a sister, Eleanor Peltier of Lenox; a brother, George Merritt of Naples, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, April 23, at 10:15 from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Mary's Church, celebrated by the Rev. John J. Varley, pastor of St. Teresa's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, April 22, from 4 to 7 at the Dwyer Funeral Home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the CYC or to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
