Bernard A. Judware Sr

Bernard A. Judware Sr., 82, of 165 Center St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was a former town inspector of weights and measures, a former auxiliary police officer and a former District 5 representative. Born in Morrisville, N.Y., on Jan. 16, 1922, son of John and Dehlia Martineau Judware, he was educated in schools there and attended theU.S. Military Academy at West Point. An Army veteran of World War II, he served from March 1940 until being discharged in 1946 with the rank of master sergeant. Mr. Judware was employed by GE from after the war until retiring in 1984 as an inspector. He was a member of Greenock Country Club in Lee, where he played in the Tuesday night and Wednesday morning golf leagues. He was a member of a Cove bowling league in Great Barrington and enjoyed fishing. His wife, the former Virginia DiMario, whom he married Feb. 12, 1944, died June 4. He leaves a sister, Anna Mae Rivers of Morrisville, N.Y., and a granddaughter. A son, Bernard A. Judware Jr., died in March 2000. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private graveside service for Bernard A. Judware Sr., who died June 20, 2004, will be held at the convenience of the family. KELLY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Judware leaves his devoted daughter-in-law, Nancy Judware, and his granddaughter, Christine Judware.
