Frances Jane Gordon, 86, of 11 Potter Hill Road died Monday evening at home. Born in the Mountain Mills section of Wilmington on Aug. 22, 1917, daughter of Domenick and Michalina "Minnie" Pieczechna Gorczakowski, she was educated in Readsboro schools. Mrs. Gordon was employed for 15 years by the former Readsboro Chair Factory, retiring in 1980. Before her marriage, she had been employed in home care and housekeeping. She was a communicant of St Joachim's Church. She and her husband, Henry Francis Gordon, were married Aug. 31, 1940, in St. Joachim's Church. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Carolyn Levesque of Suffield, Conn., and Sylvia Cristaldi of Shushan, N.Y.; three sons, Richard H. Gordon of Jacksonville, Ronald P. Gordon of Rowe, Mass., and James P. Gordon of Lawrenceville, Ga.; a sister, Mary Pikul of Adams, Mass., seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Frances Gordon, who died June 28, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow, July 1, at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME for FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, by the Rev. Joseph Tate, pastor of St. Joachim's Church. Burial will take place at a later date in Village Cemetery, Readsboro. Calling hours will be tomorrow prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home. Survivors include daughters-in-law Barbara, RoseMary and Joanne Gordon; sons-in-law Joseph Levesque and Steven Cristaldi, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Anna Gorczakowski, and brothers Stanley and Joseph Gorczakowski. She was a devoted homemaker for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
