Charlotte E. "Tina" Skorput

Charlotte E. "Tina" Skorput, 73, of Stockbridge Road died Monday evening at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Great Barrington on Nov. 17, 1930, daughter of Elbert C. and Emily Scoville Hayes, she attended the former Searles High School. Mrs. Skorpu was employed as a clerk and officer in charge for the U.S. Postal Service in West Stockbridge, retiring in 1987. She was a member of West Stockbridge Congregational Church. She also was a member of Joseph A. Libardi Post 254 American Legion Auxiliary, the West Stockbridge Sportsman Club and the Greater Years Club. Her husband, Paul P. Skorput, whom she married July 24, 1948, died Dec. 17, 1993. She leaves two sons, Michael E. Skorput and Peter A. Skorput, both of West Stockbridge; three daughters, Dale A. Skorput and Tina Skorput Cooper, both of West Stockbridge, and Paula J. Skorput of Jacksonville, Fla., 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Charlotte E. "Tina" Skorput, who died June 28, 2004, will be Friday, July 2, at 10 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, Great Barrington. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, West Stockbridge. The family will receive friends tomorrow, July 1, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. She also leaves her daughters-in-law Laura Jones Skorput and Anna Ambrose Skorput; son-in-law, DJ Lawrence; grandchildren, Kristany M. Skorput and her husband, Clint Babcock; Billy P. Cooper; Tricia Lynn Skorput; Tony "TJ" Menard; Tammy Spence Burgess and her husband, K. David Burgess; Robert V. Spence and his wife, Amy; Erick Brown; Bernie W. Fallon; Debbie Fallon; Jeffrey Fallon and his wife, Natasha; Corey and Emily Lawrence. She leaves her great-grandchildren Evan M. Babcock, Ian T. Babcock, Mason Burgess, Steven Burgess, Austin Burgess, Brandon Spence, Trevor Spence, Kody Fallon, Tanner Fallon and Hunter Fallon. She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Consolini; a son-in-law, William P. Cooper Jr., and a granddaughter, Jenny Menard. Memorial donations may be made to the West Stockbridge Council on Aging, the Greater Years Club, the West Stockbridge Fire Department or the Richmond-West Stockbridge Community Health Association through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
