Paul T. “Butch” Upright

Paul T. “Butch” Upright, 64, of 388 Park Street, Housatonic section of Great Barrington, died Friday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Great Barrington February 22, 1937 he was the son of John and Violet Eichstedt Upright. He attended local schools and was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield Vocational. Mr. Upright was a self employed painting contractor for over 30 years before retiring in 1999. He was an avid sports fan. He leaves his wife Marjorie Gale Upright whom he married February 21, 1958 in Lenox Dale, a son Richard A. Upright of Coventry, Rhode Island, three brothers Arthur E. Upright of Great Barrington, Lawrence H. Upright and Albert J. Upright, both of Pittsfield and a grandson, Matthew Upright. The Funeral will be Monday April 23 at 2 p.m. at the HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME. Reverend Charles Van Ausdall, Pastor of the. First Congregational Church of Great Barrington, will officiate. Burial will follow in Pelton Brook Cemetery, Great Barrington. Calling hours are Sunday today from 2 to 5 p.m. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation C/O Hickey-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. A sister Linda Upright died in 1958.
