Ruth E. Meyette Antonowicz

Ruth E. Meyette Antonowicz, 86, of Heaton Court died Saturday at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington. Born in North Egrement on June 23, 1918, daughter of Henry and Breda Anson Winters, she attended Sheffield schools. She resided in Sheffield until moving to Stockbridge in 1985. Mrs. Antonowicz was a machine operator for 20 years at Becton Dickinson & Co. in Canaan, Conn., retiring in 1983. She was a former member of Christ Church Episcopal and American Legion Post 140 Auxiliary, both in Sheffield. Her husband, Bronislaw "Bernie" Antonowicz, died Nov. 12, 1984. She leaves a son, James Meyette of Stephentown, N.Y.; two daughters, Patricia Testa of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Doris Powell of Ada, Okla.; a brother, Howard Winters of Ada; a sister, Evelyn Race of Sheffield; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ruth E. Meyette Antonowicz, who died Saturday, July 10, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow, July 14, at 10 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Anne Ryder, priest in charge of Christ Church Episcopal of Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home today, July 13, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
