Lila Margaret Sheldon, 88 of 175 Eagle St., North Adams, died early Wednesday morning at North Adams Commons. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 12, 1915, the daughter of Thomas B. and Bertha L. Cole Booth, she attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Sheldon was employed as a licensed practical nurse by several local nursing homes, until her retirement in 1968. She was a longtime resident of Adams until she moved to North Adams in 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Adams. Her husband, Arthur Sheldon, died in 1988. They were married July 1, 1935. She leaves a son, Ronald K. Sheldon of North Adams; seven step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lila Margaret (Booth) Sheldon will be held Thursday, July 22, 2004, at 11 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 21, from 6 to 8. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Hester Sheldon, and step-grandchildren, Larry Whitney, Mark Gardner, Penny Gardner, Ann Gardner, Jerry Whitney, Lee Ann Whitney and Sam Whitney. A sister is deceased.
