David F. Cassidy

David F. Cassidy, 77, of Stephentown died Saturday at Albany & Stratton Veterans' Hospital in Albany. Born in Pittsfield, Mass., on May 29, 1923, son of Harry A. Cassidy Jr. and Clara Brown Cassidy, he was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He was a resident of Pittsfield most of his life. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served as a draftsman in the Seabees and spent 16 months in the South Pacific. Mr. Cassidy was retired from Carr Hardware, where he worked in the electric supply and repair department. Before that, he worked at GE in Pittsfield and at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, Mass. He leaves a son, Shaun Cassidy of Chatham; three daughters, Sandra A. Rawson of Richmond, Mass., Sharon J. Cassidy of Stephentown, with whom he made his home, and Susan A. Cassidy of Lebanon Springs; four sisters, Virginia H. Gaetani and Janet M. Lamarre, both of Pittsfield, and Shirley M. Cooper and Beverly J. Jones, both of Dalton, Mass.; four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be tomorrow, April 25, at 4 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 3 until the service at 4. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the General Post Fund, Albany & Stratton VA, care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01021.
