Helen Miner

Helen "Lena" Miner, 89, of 1031 Main St., Housatonic, died Sunday at Fairview Commons. Born in Housatonic on June 25, 1911, daughter of Louis and Erminia Tassinari Ferioli, she attended Housatonic Grammar School. Mrs. Miner was employed by the former Great Barrington Manufacturing Co. for several years. She was then a housekeeper for many years at area estates, including the Wilmers, Ramsdell and Cliffe homes in Housatonic, and at Austen Riggs Center in Stockbridge. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church and enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and watching TV game shows and basketball games. Her husband, Lewis L. Miner, whom she married April 30, 1949, died April 8. She leaves a sister, Noreen Nadeau of Bristol, Conn. The funeral will be Thursday, April 26, at 9 from HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Corpus Christi Church celebrated by the Rev. Anthony J. Jutt, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 6. Donations may be made to Corpus Christi Building Fund, in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Mrs. Miner leaves 16 nieces and nephews, 34 greatnieces and -nephews, many great-greatnieces and -nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by five sisters and a brother.
