Hiram A. Young

Hiram A. Young, 66, of Congress, Ariz., a former resident of Dalton, died Thursday at Wickenburg (Ariz.) Regional Hospital. Born in Middleburg, N.Y., on June 2, 1934, son of Herb and Marguerite Kennedy Young, he attended school there. Mr. Young was employed by Crane & Co. in Dalton and O'Connor Lumber in Westfield. Earlier, he was employed by the former Bancroft Tissue. He moved to Arizona four years ago. He was a member of Becket Federated Church and enjoyed gardening and raising pigeons and rabbits. He and his wife, the former Beatrice Besancon, were married in 1974. Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Debra Capo and Christine Squires, both of Marietta, Ga., Laurie Booth of South Hadley and Tracy Young of Holyoke; three sons, Eric Young and Douglas Young, both of Westfield, and Rex Young of West Springfield; three stepdaughters, Beverly Roraback of Hinsdale, Darlene Toomey of Ohio and Cheryl Gargan of Huntington; two stepsons, Henry Gargan of Greene, Maine, and Dennis Gargan of Congress; a sister, Betty Lou Young of Middleburg; a brother, Herbert Young of Altamont, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
