Bessie B. Casey

Bessie B. Casey, 77, of 13 Glendale Road, Glendale, died Sunday at home. Born in Glendale on Jan. 12, 1927, daughter of Frank and Frances Dombroski Koloski, she was a 1944 graduate of the former Williams High School. She was employed by Country Curtains in the catalog department from 1981 to 2002. Mrs. Casey was a communicant of All Saints' Church in Housatonic, where she was a lector, a member of the Rosary Sodality and the 75th anniversary finance committee, a stewardship volunteer, a past member of the Parish Council and active in the Polish picnic. She was also one of the first Eucharistic ministers. She was a member of the Divine Mercy and Intercessory Ministry at the Marian Fathers and a former member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling. She leaves her former husband, John E. Casey Jr. of Carrabelle, Fla.; three sons, John E. Casey III of Electra, Texas, retired Col. Michael T. Casey of Housatonic and Vo-Nam Casey of Milford; three daughters, Barbara A. Jessie of Gainesville, Fla., Frances Collari of Risingdale and Mary Pat James of Madison, Ala.; two brothers, Charles "Moose" Koloski of Glendale and Anthony Koloski of Lee; three sisters, Bertha Eurich of Lee, Virginia Westover of Milwaukie, Ore., and Helen Pigott of Glendale; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Bessie B. Casey, who died Sunday, July 25, will be Thursday, July 29, at 9 from BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at All Saints' Church at 10 concelebrated by the Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor, and the Rev. David Lourde and the Rev. John Smiegel. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Bessie's memory may be made to the Marian Fathers or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, c/o the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, Ma 01230. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Casey, on Nov. 11, 1985, and by two brothers, Stanley and Frank Koloski, and two sisters, Alice Olender and Theresa Lawrence.
