Jane Konopka

Jane Isabel "Jean" Konopka, 70, of 26 Pinehill Terrace died Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where she was admitted five weeks ago. Born in North Adams on April 2, 1931, daughter of James and Isabella Butters Clements, she attended North Adams schools, including Drury High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She leaves her husband, Wallace E. Konopka; a daughter, Susan J. Konopka of North Adams; a brother, James Clements of Boiling Springs, S.C., and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen W. Konopka, who died April 7, 1998. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams. The Rev. Jill D. Graham, pastor of First Congregational Church, North Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests donations in her memory be made to First United Methodist Church through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
