Clementina Capitanio

Clementina J. "Clemy" Capitanio, 78, of 55 Sea Park Blvd., Apt. 105, Satellite Beach, Fla., a native of Pittsfield, died Monday at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 22, 1923, daughter of Ernesto and Maria Spillere Marchetto, she attended local schools and was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She moved to Florida in 1982. Mrs. Capitanio was employed by Greylock Plastics for 25 years as an inspector, retiring in 1982. She was a communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Indialantic, Fla., and Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, playing cards and sewing. She was an avid soccer fan. She leaves her husband, Amedeo "Ned" Capitanio, whom she married Aug. 31, 1946; a son, Dennis A. Capitanio of East Northport, N.Y.; a daughter, Darlene L. Weldon of Satellite Beach, Fla., and five grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother, Raymond A. Marchetto, who died on June 27, 1994. Other survivors include several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral Services will be Monday, April 30, at 9 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at All Souls' Church in Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, April 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Melbourne Kidney Center, 1400 South Apollo Boulevard, Melbourne, FL 32901, or in care of the funeral home.
