Joseph S. Santanello

Joseph S. Santanello, 77, of Lion Hill Road, East Otis, and Floral City, Fla., died Saturday at Noble Hospital in Westfield. Born in Thompsonville, Conn., on July 28, 1927, son of Angelo and JosephineSantanello, he was educated there. He moved to Agawam in 1964 and to East Otis in 1971. Mr. Santanello owned and operated a welding shop and worked for T. Kennedy Co. Inc. He previously had worked as a welder for Braunes Welding in West Spring-field. He was a member of the Otis Kiwanis Club. He and his wife, the former Vivian Bouyea, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary May 28. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Jo-Ann Staszko of Westmoreland, N.H., and Chris-tine Whitman of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Salvas of Spring-field and Virginia Rae of Indian Orchard, and two grandsons. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A funeral service for Joseph Santanello of East Otis, who died Sept. 18, 2004, will be held Saturday, Sept. 25, at 2 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Otis Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 145, Otis, MA 01253. He leaves his devoted grandsons, Peter Staszko and Joseph Whitman.
