Harriet Morin

Harriet Morin, 85, of 340 State St. died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Maryann Durant, at 358 State St. Born in Housatonic on Jan. 27, 1916, daughter of John and Anna Peontek Lesniak, she attended schools there. Mrs. Morin was employed during World War II at the former Sprague Electric Co. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and enjoyed reading. Her husband, Anthony John Morin, whom she married Dec. 1, 1934, died July 23, 1993. Besides her daughter, she leaves a son, Richard J. Morin of Ocala, Fla.; two sisters, Helen Monterosso of Pittsfield and Louise Sigoski of Great Barrington; a brother, Edward Lesniak of Lee; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, with a Funeral Mass at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to VNA-Hospice of North Berkshire or to the St. Francis Building Fund in care of the funeral home. Survivors include four grandchildren, David F. Durant Jr. of North Adams, Jennifer D. Towler of North Adams, Anthony John Morin of Auburn, Maine, and John Anthony Morin of Quincy, and one great-granddaughter, Rebeccah May Durant of North Adams. She was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Chester Lesniak.
