Flora C. Kelly

Flora C. Kelly, 75, of 65 Laurel St. died yesterday morning at home. Born in Sandisfield on Dec. 31, 1928, daughter of Cesare and Aurelia Mazzanti Cardinali, she moved to Lee as a child and graduated from Lee High School in 1946. She also graduated alongside two of her daughters from Berkshire Community College in 1983. After graduating from high school, Mrs. Kelly worked in Washington, D.C., with the Department of Navy until 1952. A communicant of St. Mary's Church, she was a member of the former St. Mary, St. Martha Sodality. She was also a member of the Irish American Club. She did volunteer work for Elder Services and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts in Lee in the 1960s. She and her husband, J. Thomas Kelly, were married June 9, 1951. Besides her husband, she leaves five sons, Gerald T. Kelly of Lenox Dale, Robert M. Kelly of Lee, James L. Kelly of Glendale, Kevin J. Kelly of Boston and Matthew M. Kelly of Lenox; three daughters, Mary A. Horton of Pittsfield, and Suzanne K. Salinetti and Kathleen T. Kelly-Curtin, both of Lee; a brother, Joseph C. Cardinali of Clifton, N.J.; a sister, Rose Marchetto of Englewood, N.J., and 13 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Flora Kelly will be Saturday at 9:15 from the KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be today, Friday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home. She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Pelletier. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Sarahgrace, Brendan, Drew, Maura, Ryan, Lauren and William Kelly, Martha, Ed and Matt Horton, Tom Salinetti, Dillon and Devin Curtin; her son-in-law, Chris Horton, and her daughters-in-law, Ann, Patricia and Pat Kelly.
